Marc Allante.

Marc Allante

(Drawing Project)

What has inspired Allante is the style and form of the western and eastern cities, however he combines them with his native Chinese traditional inks with watercolour and pen, contemporary European style. He changes the subject, techniques and themes of each work so that he can explore more.

What drew me to this artist is the fact that he is using the same subject and the same technique as myself for my drawing project. His work is controlled as you can see the facial structure of the lion yet uncontrolled due to the dripping of the ink. The ink drips I find follow the lines of the lions mane making the head more defiant. There is a lot of colour going on yet each mixes well with the other so even though there are four separate colours they come together to make something that is powerful and this portrays a lions characteristics. From his work I can learn the different ways of how to portray a animals and revealing their personalities but not revealing to much, he manages to find a balance something that I want to find in my work.
