Sophie Thouvenin.

Sophie Thouvenin

(Self Directed)

Thouvenins’ work attracted me as light subtlety affects her photography especially when there is water involved. The droplets of water I find makes the image crisp and shape as the front ones are in focus and the background droplets gets more distorted, this gives the photograph a layering effect. Even though there is not a great deal of colour the coolness of the green from the plant comes across against the droplets. It reminds me of winter when the frost is about to come, and that you are among the insects as the plant takes up the whole of the page. It has made me looking at layering the photographs I take by making the front part focused and the background area distorted.
