Dark Room – Developing
Films
- Set up equipment in the correct
place (so can see when dark) and set the clock according to the strength
of developer.
- Turn off light and unclip top of the
film and cut the top, and put in the reel carefully so that no
fingerprints are displayed.
- One in reel put on pole and dips
into developer a few times then start clock.
- Once clock rings move onto next tub
which is water for ten seconds then move to the fixer, put the lid on. Now
able to turn on lights.
- Ten minutes in fixer than place in
water tub for another ten minutes, then place into washing liquid water,
shake and get the film from the reel.
- Hang up in dyer, making sure that
there is a weight at the bottom so that the film doesn’t get tangled and
put reel in bottom to dry. Turn dryer on.
- Dry rod on towel and put away. Wait
for film to dry.

Our new project is about portraits, we
were given the task to take a natural selfie, and this is so next week we can
work from it.
