What interested me about Cookes work is how realistic and detailed the sculpture is. That even though it is to large to be real it shows the power and beauty that an owl holds. Due to the expression of the owl to me it looks like he is thinking which relates to the old saying, wise old owl. I have learnt that connecting the pillar with the sculpture can create a whole piece that is not disjointed. Also that using a material that relates to the subject creates more depth and understanding to the piece.
