It is an unusual gallery that is placed in an interesting house, and every time I have been there has been new exhibitions on and the shop has unique pieces of work that has made me look and question my own work.

Making Waves
Glass, glass dust, brass, bronzing powder
Wallhead works with glass and metal as it brings something different to the standard drawing technique, by changing the paper to metal. He enjoys creating the human form as it has unusual lines and he wants to show the relationship between people, and he wants the audience to be able to connect to his work and interpret it in their own way. It may remind people of their childhood especially the stick figures. The environment and the people and news around him inspires him, and a little of African art, however he wanted to find his own style. He is always experimenting and developing, as well as creating and working with space.

What I find interesting is the fact that from a distance it looks like quick line drawing that has a bit of detail to add shape to the body. From his work I have learnt that you do not have to over power the piece with detail and tones but just by building up of a few lines the viewer is able to tell what the image is of. It has made me question what matrials can look like another media and that its all about how you manipulate the material to get the image. Also that even 2D pieces can look 3D with the angle of certain lines. Working on the glass rather than with it.

Photography
Her images are created from many locations, from cottages to industrial to the coast, anything and everything is included in her photographs. She often finds the most colourful the most beautiful and the simple things are often the best. All her images are none manipulated and what the camera captures the audience sees. She likes to make the audience question what they see.

Auschwitz
What attracted me to Wrights work is the loneliness of here images, there are no people just places that you knew people once were. The emptiness makes questions arise such as why is there nobody there and what happened. I find that she has used light and colour carefully as a lot of her photographs are quite bleak and lonely however where the light is position, in my mind it focuses on the most important part then makes the eye wonder around the whole image. It has made me think about the use of light and lines as she uses it to make the eye flow around the page differently, from vertically to horizontal.
