With over 300 pieces it is the largest garden sculpture exhibition in the Midlands and includes national and international sculptors with fresh new art. The art either blends into the surrounding Elizabethan gardens or stands out from the nature but the majority of the pieces go in-keeping with the grand estate as if they were there already not just for the exhibition. With a variety of gardens there was different sections with different inspirations one being strength and power, another being colour and light.
The sculptures are made from many different materials from wood, stone, ceramics, glass and even water with different themes and styles.
The exhibition was open Saturday 2 August to Sunday 7 September with the price of £6 per adult making it easily assessable and with children welcome it is a great day for the whole family and can inspire the younger generation.
There was a booklet available that gives information on all the pieces, you just match the number next to the sculpture to the one in the booklet stating the artists, title, media and price.
In the booklet, it states how to look after specific media of sculpture:
- Bronze: Ideal for exterior use as resistance but needs regular protective coating of wax
- Ceramics and Glass: Handle as little as possible but when handling use latex gloves
- Willow: Paint with wood preservative or linseed oil using a brush or spray
- Wood: Varnish and do not put in direct sunlight or dry places
- Stone and Resin: Very weather resistant, just uses a wipe
