Sculpture
Week
11 (Tuesday 10th December 2013)
Another
group did their presentation on Sculpture from 1980 to 2000; the artist that caught
my eye included Robert Indiana who uses hard edges which creates a bold sculpture.
His work is iconic such as his ‘love’ work and began to work in neon.
What
interests me about his work is that it is bold and in your face but is not off
putting. The colours are bold as they are just blocked colour and the fact that
there is limited colour I find makes the sculpture look strong. This is also
due to the size of the pieces as it is bigger than humans personally it makes
it feel almost like a climbing frame, you want to go in and explore. The words
he uses are simple, everyday words but the way that he has portrayed them
allows the world to see the importance of it.
