In the Midst
Wanted to show an empty space within an area where space is hard to find such as London

These pieces of work were interesting as it was displayed with a light behind it so that you can really capture the movement of a busy city. Due to the distortion of the figures makes it feel as if the viewer is standing still and everyone is rushing past not paying attention to them as the buildings and monuments are all in focus. If you focus on the images for a while it feels as if the people are actually moving, I think this is created due to the angle of the people, the distortion and light. It is as if you are in the city feeling the hustle and hectic atmosphere it brings. It has made me think about how light can change an image and that it can add or take away to a piece, in this case it adds depth and movement to the piece. It is digital edited which personal I would rather edit natural with the camera but in this case it works as it is done well as it is only the people that are edited to get the impact of movement and everything else is still. It overall looks professional. The photographs work well in colour as it shows the blurriness of the people better and the power of the city. 

I think it works as he has used the capital city, even if you have not been there people are still able to recognised that it is London. With this people will know how buy it is and how there is so much to look at but there is not enough time to do everything therefore people are in a rush. The contrast of the distorted people against the still background, I feel is what makes the image as it shows the layers of the city, without the people the buildings will still be there.
