Degree Show. Fine Art. Elliot Friskin.

Degree Show.

Elliot Friskin.

The artist Friskin has made me think about how to create art as he has created it from sound and vibration. The movement of the vibration creates the interesting shapes of the paint and the bright colours of the paint contrast against the black background so that the viewer is immediately drawn to the unusual shapes. I find it simple due to the lack of tones and objects but it is still attractive and pleasing to look at because of the unusual shapes that is made and can only be made by this technique. At first glance it is the colours that draw you in and the images are clear yet it still shows the movement of the paint. He left business cards that have the same background on as his work that was on a stand that had the same colour and movement as his work, as a viewer you could tell that all of it was related and it was all his work.

I find his work interesting as he has used a different ways to portray paint and movement that are not standard and it involved with music, something  that is in everyone's life. He has experimented with colour but the brighter the colour I feel the bigger the impact against the black background. It looks effortless as there is no movement in the way that it is created, such as no brush strokes, but has depth due to the different layers the photograph has captured of the vibration of the paint.
The paper that the photographs are print on is of quite high class but due to it being the degree show I would have thought the quality would be higher.
